*What's New*

The "My Name" light shade is not new but what we are doing with it is! We have combined the "My Fabric" light shade concept and created this... we've done Bedfort trucks in the catus landscape for our little friend Kahurangi and a dinosaur theme for 11 week old Nicholas.   (you can click on the images to see them in a larger size)

Our latest creations - the "NZ Native series".  We created a number of light shades celebrating New Zealand native fauna and flora.  It's the best country to live in!   

"My Fabric" light shades were created as we had numerous customers ask if they could make their own light shades.  It's available in two sizes: 210x210x250mm (8") and 356x356x254mm (14"). It's so easy do... just assemble the light shade and you can use your own fabric and even change the fabric when you want to. The photo below was taken at Juniper Gallery in Newtown.  Mindy used the fabric that she sells in her shop.    

The new Bubbles light shade has a kaleidoscope of colours with the overlapping pieces creating new colours.  It is sold as a light shade only and can be hung from the ceiling by a cord or used as a lamp stand.

The Dolphin and Kiwi light shades have been inspired especially for childrens rooms by our beautiful country and the the interesting wildlife that we have.

Every Pookie light shade is hand made in New Zealand and you can be assured that your purchase is guilt free.  We design and produce every Pookie light shade in Wellington using the best materials sourced within Australasia.   Our light shades do not travel from far away shores.  We are keen to keep our planet alive!  

Material
The plastic that we use is completely recyclable, and on average contains 30%-40% recycled component.  It is  chemically unreactive/biologically inert, food-contact safe with no plasticisers, chlorine, leachable components or heavy metals and is Non-toxic if burnt.

Recyclable
The materials used to create the Pookie light shades are 100% recyclable.  Firstly we product each light shade with minimal wastage.  The wastage that does occur is created when making a Pookie light shade is gathered and delivered to a recycle company.  The recycle company grounds up the wastage into pellets.  These pellets are used in the manufacture of other new plastic products and sheets of plastic to be used again in light shades.
 
Easy cleaning
The Pookie lights shades can be cleaned with hot water and soap or if you have stubborn dirt, use a eco friendly cleaning liquid.
